A MAN brought before the District Court in Kilmallock for unauthorised use of land told a judge that he can’t remove an area of hard standing because his architect is on holidays.

The court heard from Limerick City and County Council prosecuting solicitor, William Leahy, that a caravan that was on land at Balllyphillip, Barrogue, in Croom, has been removed.

“But there is an area of hard standing on the site that has not been removed,” he told Judge Patricia Harney.

Michael Quilligan, the man before the court, said that he was using the hard standing remaining on the land for his horses.

He said he could not do anything further about it as his architect “is on holidays until May 5”.

Judge Patrica Harney heard that the mater of the unauthorised hard standing went back to September 2020.

Mr Leahy said that there was “progress” in the issue.

Judge Harney said that, if there were such, “we’re making progress very slowly”.

She adjourned the matter until May 21.
