DRUGS with an estimated street value of €40,000, that were destined for an address in Limerick City, were seized by Revenue officers at Shannon Airport this afternoon.
The drugs, herbal cannabis, were recovered as part of a routine operation by Revenue.
Approximately 2kgs of the drug was seized after being discovered in a parcel that originated from Italy and destined for Limerick City.
“Investigations are ongoing.
This seizure is part of Revenue’s ongoing operations targeting the importation of illegal drugs,” said a Revenue spokesman.
